Our first Kate's Shots & Shenanigans was a huge success! We had so much fun with a day of golf, food, raffles, silent auction, fun and… shenanigans… in honor of Kate! And... we raised almost $34,000 in funding to go directly into researchers hands to find a cure - absolutely AMAZING!
Although this year looks quite different due to covid-19, we are dedicated to safely getting people outside for just as much fun and shenanigans as last year. We hope you will join us to raise money to help find the Homerun Cure - for DIPG - and all cancers!
This year we are requiring pre-registration as we will need to prepare ahead of time for food and beverage, carts, etc. Register before July 31 for the early-bird registration discount!
Kate loved being surrounded by her family, friends and community – what better way to continue her love for a good laugh and doing good for others than a day out on the course for The Cure Starts Now in her honor!
The Cure Starts Now is a non-profit organization raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research – with less than 3% overhead! This means your donation goes straight to the researchers, where the most innovative and talented professionals are making strides to finding the cure for not just DIPG, but ALL cancers! The Cure Starts Now is looking for the HomeRun Cure. It is believed that if we can find the treatment for the biggest cancer bully, pediatric brain tumors, that we can find the treatment for all types of cancer.
We can’t wait to see you in August!

The Central Massachusetts Chapter of The Cure Starts Now was started in honor of Kate Arpano. She was diagnosed with DIPG on August 16, 2014. She fought with bravery and strength for 17 months. In her all too short six years here on Earth, Kate inspired so many with her love for life, compassion towards others, and her endless silliness. She loved playing with her little sister, dancing, playing silly jokes, school, cooking, shopping and cats. Kate taught everyone that there is always time to stop to smell the flowers, to find joy in every single day, and to do good for others. Her belly giggles, contagious smile and big hugs will be missed every day.
