Presented by The Missouri (Show-Me a Cure) Chapter of The Cure Starts Now, we’ve recruited breweries across Missouri to collectively fundraise for childhood brain cancer research in honor of our daughter, Maeleigh!

Show your support by grabbing a glass at any participating venue through the month of May. A percentage of venue sales will be donated to The Cure Starts Now.

Why We Fight

Maeleigh's journey began with a brain tumor diagnosis on November 24th, 2020. After surgery to remove most of the tumor, she faced a difficult recovery with posterior fossa syndrome, impairing her speech and coordination. Despite challenges and delays in physical therapy due to COVID-19, Maeleigh made remarkable progress, taking her first steps before Christmas 2020. Over the following months, she endured proton radiation and grueling chemotherapy, which required many painful blood transfusions due to issues accessing her port. She completed her last chemo session in September 2021.

Now cancer-free with stable MRI results, Maeleigh graduated high school in 2024 from Ozark High School and is attending Missouri State University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Education. Though radiation and chemotherapy’s effects remain, Maeleigh’s experience has fueled advocacy for better cancer treatments. The Toynton family stands united in demanding a cure for pediatric brain cancer, supporting organizations like The Cure Starts Now, which seeks a "homerun" cure for all cancers

The Cure Starts Now (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric cancer may in fact provide us the critical first step in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult.
